Ms access rowsource not updating

A subform combo box control's list of values depends on the node selected in the treeview on the main form.

I am trying to achieve refresh of the combo box drop down list contents on the subform as follows: But oddly enough, this does not update the list of values.

-- Andrew Bauman I like the look/feel of the navigation form mostly because I do a good deal of development work in applications that have a consistent "template" look/feel to them (whether they be websites with master pages or other apps) and the built-in Nav function seems great out of the box. Like I said earlier - I'm a VBA guy normally and I could have done this stuff in VBA with my eyes shut ... I couldn't see the Set Value macro action at first until I did a " Google" on it and realized I needed to click " Show All Actions." So - I have a follow up question. Problem is, Access doesn't have a data mode that allows edits but not additions.

I like the suggestion of designing/testing in the sub-form ... Why is Access 20 deeming " Set Value" (and other hidden Macro actions) as " Unsafe? It's either " Add" (allow additions, no edits), " Edit" (allow both) or " Read Only" (allow neither)." id="ctl00_m_m_i_ctl00_gr_ctl03_bestanswerbody" class="textarea-bestanswerhidden" name="bestanswerbody" answerbody Id="3874444" / Thanks Andrew. FYI - I've not only used Set Value to adjust the formatting of my Risk Value field - I've also used it (so far) to update the sub-form Allow Additions property because, as I found out, using "Open Form" or "Browse To" macro actions with a Data Mode of "Edit" automatically enables Additions (overrides the setting on the form).

The issue with this is that the columns don't get formatted and excel reads everything as strings rather than the data type, whereas in the first method the data types are read correctly. Worksheets(1) xl App.visible = True str File = Current Project. Access Connection Set rs = Create Object("ADODB.recordset") With rs Set .

The users want the results of this query to be able to be exported to Excel. A procedure contains a series of Visual Basic statements that perform an operation or provide a calculation. cbo Find Customer 'Set value of combo box equal to an empty string Me! Value = "" End Sub The example shows how we can use the After Update event of a combo box.An event procedure is a procedure that runs in response to an event initiated by the user or program code, or triggered by the system. The After Update event will occur when the data in a record or in the control on a form has been updated.I like the look/feel of the navigation form mostly because I do a good deal of development work in applications that have a consistent "template" look/feel to them (whether they be websites with master pages or other apps) and the built-in Nav function seems great out of the box. Problem is, Access doesn't have a data mode that allows edits but not additions. Microsoft has made this "trust center" for Office security. If you need to automate an action from a single event of a control then you can write all of the necessary VBA code as an event procedure that is attached to the event property of that particular control.

Coupled with how slow it is, it is very likely that the user will cause an error, trying to manipulate the form before the looping is completed.
